Software Architect & Full-Stack Developer | MITCHDesigns - Farah Nile Cruise (2012)

Overview

Farah Nile Cruise is a premier luxury river cruiser operating sailing itineraries between Luxor and Aswan in Upper Egypt. Contracted through digital agency MITCHDesigns, this project engineered Farah's inaugural web presence and reservation engine, establishing the digital brand that helped secure its initial commercial success.

Served as Software Architect and Full-Stack Developer across the complete project lifecycle, from initial requirement elicitation with cruise operators through delivery and ongoing maintenance. Built on the proprietary custom PHP MVC framework and MySQL, the platform combined an editorial visual showcase with an administrative management backend.

Key Technical Challenges & Architecture

  • ->Cruise Itinerary & Trip Management: Designed relational database schemas to model multi-day sailing itineraries (3, 4, and 7-night cruises), seasonal scheduling calendars, cabin tier pricing, and amenity inventories.
  • ->Direct Booking & Reservation Engine: Built reservation workflows and validation rules to handle dynamic date selection, cabin occupancy parameters, and customer booking inquiries without cross-channel scheduling conflicts.
  • ->Administrative Operations CMS: Engineered an administrative control panel empowering cruise operations staff to manage trip dates, adjust seasonal tariffs, update cabin details, and process reservation pipelines autonomously.
  • ->High-Resolution Media & Performance: Structured asset caching and lightweight layout rendering to showcase high-resolution ship photography and deck plans smoothly across international travel markets.
